JoomLeague 6.2.0-dev7 is now available for download and testing. This development release marks one of the final milestones ahead of the planned first beta version of the JoomLeague 6.2 series.
Core Architectural Updates
This version introduces a redesigned administration interface alongside a modern frontend presentation layer. A central addition in version 6.2 is the universal sport profile system. These profiles define rules, player positions, match events, statistical metrics, competition structures, and result calculation methods.
The current release package includes fifteen predefined profiles supporting various disciplines, including football, basketball, ice hockey, volleyball, tennis, motorsport, esports, and running races.
Competition Management and Administration
Competition administration has been expanded to cover the complete lifecycle of sports management. Administrators can configure and manage:
- Competitions, clubs, teams, and individual rosters
- Venues, match schedules, line-ups, and match officials
- Results, detailed statistics, and standings
To streamline setup, version 6.2.0-dev7 incorporates automated readiness checks, a guided project configuration wizard, custom fields, project templates, and real-time standings calculations.
Frontend Features and Integration
Website visitors gain access to structured views for match programmes, results, tables, statistical breakdowns, club and team profiles, venues, tournament brackets, and event reports. Additionally, the package contains native frontend modules, integration with Joomla Smart Search, and iCalendar feed generation.
About JoomLeague and Compatibility
JoomLeague is an open source extension for the Joomla content management system designed for organizing sports leagues and tournaments.
Because version 6.2 utilizes a rebuilt database architecture, it is not directly compatible with the older 6.1.x release series. A dedicated migration service is provided for converting supported legacy installations.
