I started develloping a new website, using Joomla 3.2. Now I tried installing phoca 4.0.4, but it doesn't work properly.
I can upload the images, but they are not displayd on the website and there is no thumbnail created.
Does anybody know this problem? Or even better: the solution?

Yes, 'Enable Thumbnail Generation'.
backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Phoca Gallery Control Panel --> Options --> Thumbnails --> Thumbnail Generation Settings --> Enable Thumbnails Generation=Yes
Save & Close
Now go to: backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Phoca Gallery Control Panel --> Images
The missing thumbnails will now be created.
This is how the settings of the component were set. So I tried it the other way around: unable the option, save it, and then able it again.
It still isn't working
I am experiencing a very similar problem. Generate thumbnails is enabled with the process appearing to be executed. No images or graphics at all are displayed within Phoca Gallery; not even the system ones. The site is now very, very slow.
There does seem to be a genuine problem with Phoca Gallery and Joomla 3.2.
I have another site that is using Joomla 2.5.16 and this works well.
Could we have a quick response to the problems please?
I did follow the documentation for uploading images, etc. I did exactly as I have done for earlier versions of Joomla and Phoca Gallery.
No images show for the back or front ends. In fact no images with Gallery can be seen at all, including those in its control panel. Other modules, components and plugins are not affected in this way. I use Opera as my main browser; has Gallery been tested with it?
Hi, yes, I have both Opera (one the obsolete and second the newest), but I don't expect that this can be a browser problem as Opera is standard browser and displaying an image is a part which non standard browsers even do (so if non standard browsers do, there cannot be problem by standard browsers).
Try to test if all Phoca Gallery tables are included in your database - mostly debug tells if there is some database error.
Tried using Firefox and this works, all images are displayed.
I have checked with Opera again and found that images are not displayed in various places within Joomla. For instance the Joomla logo is absent. I took a screen shot, but, it does not seem possible to attached a file to this reply.
Hi, you can paste the screenshot e.g. per imageshack ( forum-rules.php ) ... but if the problem occurs on your whole website and only in one browser, I think, you need to ask somewhere else as this seems to be a problem of browser/OS/or your server
I think you are partially right: I have a sister site also running Joomla 3.2 without any problems whatsoever. I think, therefore, the problem lies with the installation. I used Softerculous to install Joomla and this may have introduced the image display problem.
I will in due course delete the existing installation and re-install using the Joomla installation package.
