Phoca extensions are free extensions and are made and supported in freetime. Because of time issue, please accept the following "rules" (these are additional rules to registration terms):
- Please, don't bumb the topics. Don't ask the same question in different topics. I (developer) need to work in my regular work, need to sleep sometime, etc. Usually I am visiting this forum every second or third day and after my regular work I am answering cca 90 posts, so removing of bumped posts delays the answering the normal posts :-( (the same is by moderators or other users, who all are answering posts and helping people for free in their freetime).
- Before you ask, try to read documentation or search this forum, as many questions are answered repeatedly.
- Check if your server meets all the necessary requirements.
- Some questions are answered shortly as the information can be found in documentation (Phoca or Joomla! documentation). This does not mean, the question is not important.
- If you have problem on your site, please paste the link to your site or link a screenshot of your site (store your screenshot on some image server and paste a link to this image into the post). See: How to add image or screenshot to Phoca Forum post.
- If you get blank page or error 500 on your site, please try to enable error reporting on or see your error log and paste this error message into the topic (see How to enable displaying php errors on site, try to check your SEF settings.
- If you think, you found a bug, try to describe it or suggest a fix for such bug.
- If you miss some feature of Phoca extension, please paste a topic on feedback site. If some of Phoca extensions, you have downloaded and installed, doesn't fit your needs, just uninstall it, we are here to help people not to make or support flameware posts.
- I (developer) have written over 100.000 lines of code, so sometimes is not possible for me as human to link you directly to some place, you want to customize it. If you ask how to make some customization, for someone who didn't do such customization it is very difficult to give you any advice about such customization :-(. This does not mean, nobody wants to help you.
- You can use any language you want in this forum, but you should know, you mostly get answer if you ask in English. Don't apologize for your English, there are a lot of users include me (developer) who have problems with English. If you think, your English is not understandable, try to paste some examples. Anyway, in my posts you will find a lot of grammar mistakes, which is caused mostly by lack of time to check what was written :-(.
- If you provide an information about extension you are using or you have developed, please don't describe features with subjective form (e.g. this extension is better than other becuase the other extension does not include or does not contain ..., etc.) - to prevent from flameware or making misrepresentation because of ignorance.
- Please don't spam this forum, don't advertise your products.
- Do not paste URL(s) into the message unless it is necessary, then it is very likely that your message will be deleted by automatic spam protection script which will mark such post as spam. If you paste an URL of the site where described problem occurs (to show the problem live), please paste the full URL (link directly to the problematic part of your site, not only a domain). In other case, it can happen, that your account and post will be automatically deleted. :-(
- Because of using sophisticated spam methods, user accounts posting nonsensical messages will be deleted. If your account will be deleted wrongfully, please make a feedback in Phoca contact form.
Topics or user accounts which do not comply with the rules will be deleted. :-(
