Link to File Problem

I've installed the phoca download plugin and the download button plugin. I am having trouble with linking to a file. Instead of linking to a file it goes to the category. http://67.225.138.33/~oldpoint/index.ph ... -suite-200
Can anyone help?

Hi, this is a feature of the plugin, the link goes to category where the file is located.

E.g. file list displays files where the link is direct download link.

Any way to have it go directly to a file. I thought that was an option?

The documentation has an example for this situation:

{phocadownload view=file|id=280}

As view you have to set file and the id would be the file-id you can find in the last column of your file view in the backend.

Hi,

I installed the plugin for joomla 1.6, I activated it and then I pasted the code directly in one of my articles :

{phocadownload view=file|id=7}

The problem is the code is not read as a code but as text and it doesn't show me the link of the file but smply "{phocadownload view=file|id=7}" on the web page ... not very useful . I use jumi for some php scripts and I thought it was more or less the same steps to make it works but theres something I do not understand ...

Any idea ?

Hmm for me it works as expected.
Do you have caching activated?
If yes disable it as long as you testing something. Did you clean your browser cache?
Do you really activated the plugin in the plugin manager?
Are other plugins activated for type content which could cause it?

Hi!

I've tried the syntax to call a file directly (with the plugin) but it still redirect me to the category instead of downloading the pdf file. I used
phocadownload view=file|id=1 (with curly braces of course)

Also, I use the component to show all file in a caterogy (for archive) but again, the url provided for each file leads to another page where you can finally download the file. I would be great to save a click. Is there any way we could call a file directly?

I checked all the things you mentioned. Caching is not activated (I tried activating it but still the same), I cleaned my browser cache, I tried with Firefox, IE and Chrome.... nothing ... The plug-in IS activated BUT I have some others plugin for type content ...

(GeSHi) is OFF, all the others are ON. I tried switching OFF the last plugin I installed ( Oziogallerie) but it still not working.

@hlarocque, I can put a link for direct download copying the link :

It is good for me as administrator but any user who upload files would not be able to share them easily ...

Hmmm do you have a link where we can see the article?
Maybe your used editor is causing this. Try to edit the article using another one (CodeMirror or None for example),

If you click on "decargar el catálogo" it works perfectly as I mentioned before but if I copy and paste "{phocadownload view=file|id=7}" it only shows me the code on the article ... I changed the editor as you told me but it still the same.

Look at thoses pics ... if you see something wrong ...
