Email alert/notification when someone downloads file

We use Phoca Download on our Joomla website and we would like the administrator of our website to receive an automatic EMAIL alert/notification (with name of file downloaded, user ID of person downloading, and date/time of download) when a file is downloaded.

How can we achieve that?

Hi, for now there is a function to send email after upload or download. If the information does not fit your needs, then this needs to be customized

Can you explain, step-by-step, what I need to do to activate that function (send an email to the admin of our website when someone downloads a file)?

I do see the file named "administrator\components\com_phocadownload\helpers\phocadownload.php" on the server but don't understand what to do.

Hi, as I wrote the email function exists, it sends email when user upload or download file. But if the sent information don't fit your needs, this needs to be customized. I cannot write you step-by-step what needs to be done as I didn't do such modification yet

The email function sending email when users upload or download files does not seem to work for us. We do not get any emails when a file is downloaded. Any suggestion on how to troubleshoot that? Where do we need to go to set/verify the email address where the emails are sent?

Hi, did you check your email settings in your Joomla! (smpt, etc.) does your Joomla! sends emails?
Did you set the reciever in parameters component in menu link, see:

I am testing it on localhost and both are working OK.
