Phoca Gallery and Joomla 4.4

I have been using Phoca Gallery for many years. Since the update from Joomla 3.10 to 4.4 the appearance is horrible. I can no longer find any customisations in the options. In addition, I can no longer switch off the "share", which can lead to copyright conflicts. The images may not be downloaded or distributed.

With the version under Joomla 3.10 everything was fine.

Hi,
the web is evolving dramatically. Each parameter in optins dramatically slows down the loading of page so most of design parameters were moved to CSS, because changing design per CSS is much more practical. There are no mores obsolete methods like making rounded corners by image, etc. etc. All moved to modern CSS.

I don't understand what do you mean with "switch off the "share"", not sure what you mean with "may not by downloaded or distributed"... Regarding functions, there were mostly no changes.

Can you paste a screenshot what do you exactly mean with "appearance is horrible"? Mostly the appearance is managed by the template.

You mean in Detail View? It can be hidden via css.

The images may not be downloaded or distributed.

You can download any image from the Internet that you can display in your browser.
If necessary by screenshot. And that was not different in Phoca Gallery 4.4.3.
Download button can be hidden via Options.

If you mean the share button (detail-view) Photoswipe, you can hide this into your CSS (user.css) or custom.css of your Template.

As my colleagues already wrote, it is best to show us the UR concerning "the appearance is horrible".

i cant find the setting to change the preview. The Title ist allways in the Category-Picture :-(. And the picture download ist disabled in this forum! otherwise everything is ok.

Hast Du die Migration von Phoca Gallery v4.4.3 nach Phoca Gallery v5.0.0 nach dieser offiziellen Anleitung vorgenommen?

Ich sehe im Quellcode Deiner Seite, dass Du sowohl das Phoca Gallery Theme Standard, als auch das Phoca Gallery Theme Simple installiert und aktiviert hast. Das sollte nicht sein, von diesen beiden Themen sollte immer nur eins aktiv sein:

Ist der Menüeintrag 'Photoalbum' ein Menüeintrag zur Phoca Gallery Komponente vom Typ: 'Liste der Kategorien' ?
Da dort nichts angezeigt wird, vermute ich das es ein Menüeintrag zur Phoca Gallery Komponente vom Typ: 'Liste der Bilder' ist und die Kategorie leer ist, also keine Bilder enthält?! Ist aber nur geraten....

Die Umstellung haben wir gemäss Anleitung vorgenommen und dies funktionierte auch einigermassen.

Das Menü Phpoto-Album ist konfiguriert als "List of Images (Category View)", Categrorie "Photoalbum". Die Site ist ein komplett neu aufgesetztes Joomla 4.4. Installiert habe ich Phoca Gallery von der Download-Seite. Mehr installiert habe ich nicht.

Wir kann es sein, dass plötzlich keien Bilder mehr angezeigt werden? Soll ich dir sonst einen Admin-Zugang einrichten?

Kannst Du gerne tun. Ganz wichtig: Vorher ein komplett Backup der Seite anlegen, um im Notfall auf den Ausgangszustand zurückkehren zu können. Ohne angelegtes Backup mache ich da garnichts.

so, läuft jetzt:

Ich habe ein paar Dinge geändert:
Phoca Gallery --> Options --> Categories View:
--> Display Subcategories=No
--> Display Empty Categories=Yes
(Stand vorher genau anders herum)

Phoca Gallery --> Options --> Categorie View:
--> Enable Masonry Layout=No
(Stand vorher auf: Yes)
Geändert weil:

Enable or disable Masonry layout for Category View. Be aware, you need to choose the right theme (e.g. theme Simple) to display Masonry layout properly. Some parameters will be automatically disabled for Masonry layout (e.g. Display Back Button, Display Subcategories On Each Page, etc.).

Das bewirkte, das unter 'Photoalbum' nichts angezeigt wurde.

Phoca Gallery --> Options --> Styles:
--> Theme_standard=unpublished
(Theme_Simple und Theme_Standard waren gleichzeitig aktiv)

Falls Du irgend wann mal 404er unter dem Menüpunkt 'Photoalbum' angezeigt bekommst, würde ich einen nicht sichtbaren Menüpunkt zur Phoca Gallery Komponente vom Typ Liste der Kategorien anlegen. Der bewirkt dann das korrekte URLs erzeugt werden.

Aber im Moment scheints ja so zu laufen.
