Phoca Download not working with Joomla Standard SEF On

Post by aluidens »

I have been trying to get PhocaDownload Plugin to work, in particular with Joomla 1.5 SEF ON, with no success.

I have tried with Joomla 1.5.15, 1.5.17, and 1.5.18.
I have created a dummy menu for SEF to recognize the ItemID of com_PhocaDownload.
I am not using any security (e.g. registered, special, or permissions on the file) yet.

What else do I need to do to make it work. I know it is working on www.phoca.cz.

I have reviewed most of not all the articles posted in this forum regarding this issues. It looks like it is a consistent issue that has not really been resolved.

I would greatly appreciate your assistance.

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

Angelo.

This link:

http://czytelnik.isgreat.org/component/ ... aminy.html

is not correctly created SEF link, it means, the Itemid was not found - the component/phocadownload should be not added to the link. This will be added only in case there is no menu link or it is not published. Try to check if some of the link is created to Phoca Download in Menu Manager.

Hi, can I see the site where this occurs?

Here:
https://www.phoca.cz/demo/phoca-download ... ry/1-files

The PDF preview and PDF downloading normally works with SEF enabled.

I had this problem on a Joomla install using the plugin. In order for the SEF URL to be generated correctly you have to have an index value as well as an id for the file or section\category.

In order for Joomla! to create this you have to make a menu link to the file or section\category in question. This menu doesn't have to be displayed (don't set the default module title). You'll find that your downloads now work with SEF enabled.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Cuttlefish,

It did work, only for the "section/category/file" that I selected in the settings of the hidden menu item I have created. Would I have to create a menu item and select the "section/category/file" for every single file I have uploaded for download?

Thanks you for your assistance.
