Hi,
How can one recreate the 'index/relationship' between thumbs/categories and pictures and in doing so, restart the numbering of categories and pictures to some desired value?

Hi, not sure what you meant with numbering, but if you mean the ID of the categories or images, this is set in database, so in this case, you need to truncate the tables to restart the IDs - in every image, you can set under each category it will bet set.

If you will delete the images, the quickest way, is to delete images, categories (truncate the tables in database - to have new IDs) and then to use Multiple Add function which will recreate all the tree (categories - subcategories - images - from folders and images on server).

Jan,
I did what you instructed but did not 'truncate' the database so I got the big numbers. I am suggesting you add the ability to do this function from your software calling it a 're-index' or perphaps optimization. I got into real problems in these actions because I did not clean out all the thumbs folders, which can then corrupt the results.
