Dear
I help moderate a joomla website from a local school and they implemented the Phoca Gallery plugin to show images from their activity's on their website. I tried deleting uploaded images to phoca gallery and it does delete the images shown in Phoca Gallery => images. But when I check the server these images stay on the server meaning only the reference to the image gets deleted. When I try to delete the images on the server it sais i'm not priveledged even when I change the priveleges to 777 at preferences => folder permissions. Is there any way to permanantly delete images on phoca gallery without having to chmod the folders ?
Just for info, we are using version 2.5.8
With Friendly regards

Re: Permanantly deleting images on Phoca Gallery
Hi, delete the files on the server the same way like you have uploaded it - if you have uploaded them with ftp, then you need to delete them per ftp, if per script, check if the script works with or without ftp layer, if without then delete them per script - e.g. with help of some file manager (I will recommend Phoca Commander, but this component is Joomla! 3 component
)

Re: Permanantly deleting images on Phoca Gallery
We always upload the pictures using the multiple add and through the java upload. So if I understand correctly the only way to permanantly delete images is to go the media manager and delete the images 1 by 1 ?Jan wrote:Hi, delete the files on the server the same way like you have uploaded it - if you have uploaded them with ftp, then you need to delete them per ftp, if per script, check if the script works with or without ftp layer, if without then delete them per script - e.g. with help of some file manager (I will recommend Phoca Commander, but this component is Joomla! 3 component)

Re: Permanantly deleting images on Phoca Gallery
Hi, yes, original images can be uploaded to server many different ways, so Phoca Gallery only manage the images it created - the thumbnails - not original images as they can be used for other parts on the site (like image in content, etc.).
