Thumbnails spacing

I want to use small thumbnails since I have lots of images. But there's a white box around all of them, and there's a lot of space in between them. Any idea how I can get them to display without the white box and more tightly together?

Hi, for category view you can set margin and padding features in Options, you can set design of the output in template of each view.
