Upgrading to 3.2.1 on Joomla 2.5

I'm trying to upgrade from 3.2.0 to 3.2.1 on Joomla 2.5.4 however it appears the update instructions were written for an older version of Joomla.

Upgrade Phoca Gallery with help of Joomla! Installer

Upgrade Phoca Gallery:

Extensions » Install/Uninstall. Now you are in Extensions Manager. Click on Upload Package File - select the Phoca Gallery component ZIP file from your disc and click on Upload File & Install.

Then you can choose between Install or Upgrade Phoca Gallery component. Select Upgrade. If you select Install, all previously stored Phoca Gallery data in your database will be removed.

The problem is on Joomla 2.5 I have different windows to Install and Update. If I go to the install page and "Upload Package" the only button I see is "Upload & Install". I don't want to take the chance and removing any data in the database I have.

If I go to the "Update" page and click "Find Updates" I get the The PHP allow_url_fopen setting is disabled error message. It's unlikely the web host will change this.

Any ideas?

so in other words - install Phoca Gallery like any other extension in Joomla! ... After installing you will get a page where you can decide between full install or upgrade - just click on upgrade (update) button to not lose data - to be 100% backup your Joomla! data before installing anything in your Joomla!
