Stop Thumbnail Generation Fatal error: Allowed memory size

Hello everyone,
I have a problem I put pictures to the gallery so they do not appear on the site they look white,
When I select the Thumbnail option then I see the pictures edited and then are displayed on the site,
But now I got the following message?
Stop Thumbnail Generation

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 54525952 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 16000 bytes) in on line 214

And I do not how to fix the problem, I'd love to get help?
