memory limit is rising permanently

Hello!

I´m using the Phoca visitors´ book 2.0.5 with Joomla 2.5.4.
After setting with J!1.7. and also after updating to J!2.5 the visitors´ book is working correctly. Since some time the following error message appears periodical:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 50331648 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 72 bytes) in /var/www/web1334/html/neu/libraries/joomla/database/database/mysqli.php on line 498

As the error firstly appeared, I arranged an increased memory limit due to the provider. At that time from 32 M to 36 M script memory. This value is enough for the whole homepage. Now then (without one more visitors entry) I get error messages again and again in unsteady intervals. Someday my memory limit according to the provider is reached and the visitors´ book will be out of function.

Is there a chance to get help or constructive solution offers?

But mostly, Phoca Guestbook does not have any such problems, as there is no large demand to query database - only posts per paginaton are loaded, so this should be not a problem there?

Thanks so much for the link. So you think the problem is the limited server memory. Unfortunately, I already increased the server memory and the problem still exists…
At the template the fault does not lie, I have tested others there

Hi!

The problem was not the Phoca guest book, where I noticed the error firstly. Today suddenly the whole homepage was switched offline because of a memory limit problem. After a pronounced research I detected, that an older (installed in the past, but not used now) JV counter was working simultaneously, writing junk data to the database for every web page entry. Thus, the memory limit was reached again and again. After deleting all elements of this counter and the resetting of the providers memory limit, the function of the homepage and the guest book is restored. It works very well from now on since a few days. The problem seems to be solved completely.
