Re: Google index
Hello, I read several discussion about that in phoca forum, and I found out that only with No pop up it is possible to index correctly the images (actually in the other detail views, the thumbnails are still indexed, but not the original images). So I'm thinking eventually to switch from highslide JS to no pop up for this and other problems (no direct link per image, no hits count,no sidebar view, etc.) even if clearly I much more prefer the look of Highslide. But before taking the final decision I would like to understand, why in my articles, in example this
www .nomadtravellers.com/content/77-nomad-travel/108-casino-constanta-frozen-black-sea
also the big images are indexed, despite I'm opening with highslide (not phocagallery, but in mavik thumbnails).
So it looks like Highslide inside phoca is not indexing, highslide outside phoca is indexing?
Here a google image search to show that they are indexed outside phoca, one of my photo of this article is in the first row of results

Re: Google index
Hi, these questions should be asked on google developers than here in the forum.
1) if you have link to image, google or any robot will index it
2) robots do not know javascript - so if the link goes to some javascript window, there are problems to index it
3) if the link goest to html page with the image, it is more "user friendly" for the robot as it can index "self instance page"
4) robots do not prefer index links directly to file but links to some page where e.g. the image is displayed (not possible if it is done with some jascript trick)
