Phoca Gallery 3.1.2 Beta - error after updating

Hello
I'm an enthusiastic user of the Phoca Gallery. But yesterday, I updated the component from Version (probably) 2.8.1 to the Phoca Gallery 3.1.2 Beta, I'm running it on Joomla 1.7.3.
After the installation of the new component the entries of the Phoca Gallery categories table and all its allocations were gone from the database. The table categories was just emptied. The Joomla menu entries were still there, but when calling a gallery page, the following error appears: '#404 Category is unpublished or does not exist'.
So I had to enter again all the categories, re-allocate the images and menus to the categories.
It's a very annoying side effect. Anyway, I've reconfigured everything and the site is online again.
Be warned: backup your Phoca Gallery before the installation

Hi, maybe you did click on Install instead of Upgrade?

Oh yes, this makes sense..
I just downloaded the zip file from your website and installed it..

Hi, yes, then the info text should be read - as then there are two options - install and upgrade (by install there is warning about deleting all previous data)
