Menu Item to All Categories?

Post by kerrianne42 »

Hi All,

I'm having problems with Phoca. Maybe I'm setting things up wrong, I'm a new Phoca user (although experienced with Joomla), and keep running into things I feel are designed to frustrate me. Since Phoca's been around a while, I'm guessing this is a learning curve or something. :x *sigh*

I just want to create a menu item that displays all my categories in one location. I was under the impression Phoca was capable of producing a page with thumbnail covers to ALL the categories in the system. I have never selected one album over the other, yet no matter what I do, Phoca's link in my menu to "Phoca Gallery >> List Of Categories (Categories View)" will only, and forever, display a page that links to one - and only the one - of my categories.

I currently have two (2) categories. Both are published and authorized, both contain multiple photographs, also published and authorized. I can create a specific page with a slideshow plugin to either category, and view the images this way without issue.

But the menu item! Why won't it show all the categories?

**aside** What's the deal with this one category per owner thing? Gods forbid, if my client wants 42 photo albums, does that mean I need to create 42 users to own all these bloody categories?? Even if I nest them, I'm still going to need multiple categories to organize the photos! **/aside**

I am using Phoca Gallery 3.1.1, running on Joomla 1.7.3.

Any help is greatly appreciated!! :!:

Thank you,

Hi, really not sure what is wrong on your site. This is standard and default feature - displaying list of categories, you can see it on every demo page ... so for now I cannot say what can be wrong there
