smilies in phocaguestbook v2.0.1

Post by hkatz »

There seems to be a bug in phocaguestbook v2.0.1 for joomla 1,7. When I insert a smiley-icon into my guestbook, the image-file can not be found. when I look into the HTML-Code of the page, the src-attribute of the smiley-icon has the wrong code src="joomlafolder/../media/editors/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-file.gif" instead of src="joomlafolder/media/editors/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-file.gif".
Who knows, how to repair this bug?
with kind regards

Hmmm, really no idea, maybe some extension change the url (paths) to the images on the site, maybe there is some wrong meta tag about urls, etc. :-(

Do you get the smileys e.g. if you edit an article in frontend?

Same here. Following search results this issue had been reportet a few times, but alas there doesn't seem to be a solution for it yet.
In our case our emoticons are located on [www].mydomain.de/folder/media/...
But the gb assumes the smilies to be located in [www].mydomain.de/media/...
So it misses out the first folder of our domain.

I really love the Phoca and I would like to install it on our new webiste, but if there's no way to correct the path, we can't use it.

Where does the gb get the path from by the way? Is there no way we can edit the path for each smiley manually or anything else?

Hi, the path is defined by the tinymce editor - which is a part of Joomla!

Looking here:
https://www.phoca.cz/joomlademo/phoca-guestbook

see all ok, the path is defined by emotions.js which is a part of tinymce  - just see the source of the popup.

Images in the posts:
media/editors/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/

the path is defined is stored in database, previously set by tinymce.

I have the same problem. Can it be that my Joomla installation is not in the root of the FTP, but in a subdirectory?

Hi, not sure, but I think, this should not be a problem, because on Phoca Demo sites, it is not in root of server.

The following URL is generated in the Post of the Guestbook for a smily:

/Joomla/../media/editors/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-sealed.gif

where Joomla is my subfolder of root.
It would work like this:

/Joomla/media/editors/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-sealed.gif
