Blank thumbnails and no images in J1.7

HI,
I’ve been using Phoca Gallery for a couple of years in a Joomla 1.5 site I’ve been running. I’ve kicked off updating to Joomla 1.7. In doing so, I’ve had to re-install Phoca Gallery. I upgraded the gallery in the site before starting to work on a backup version (upgraded using JUpdate).

I am now having problems. I’ve died the various thread suggestions to update the existing data by using some SQL, but that didn’t work. So I cleared out the Phoca Gallery categories and images and started again.

Even though I can create categories and assign images to them, I am getting nothing displaying when the gallery. The thumbnails are empty, and no image is displayed when I click on the space where the image is meant to be.

In making this gallery, all the images were imported, thumbnails created (I have checked the time stamps on the images on the server, and they are all as expected). When looking at the source of the page, the image sources are just "/jupgrade/" and not the path to the thumbnail as expected.

If you click on the magnifying glass, there is an error message given: 404 - PHOCAGALLERY_CATEGORY_IS_UNPUBLISHED

In the admin side of the site, all the images are recorded as being in "Picasa folders" rather than giving a proper URL. The admin side displays no thumbnails for the images - just broken image place holders. The image source for those is just "?imagesid=" and a long number.

Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but this seems to be very broken to me. Can you suggest what to do to get it to work properly? Thanks.

Hi, I don't have any experiences with jupgrade so cannot say what exactly can be wrong there?

For now really didn't get info about any such simalar problem
