Back Button does not behave correctly.

Why Can't the back button just go back?

I have a main menu button.
It displays an

Thumbnail -> Root Category >> Subcategory

When you click on the link, it correctly lists all the thumbs in which you can simply view in a popup

However when you click the Green Arrow to go back, it in fact DOES NOT bring you back to

Thumbnail -> Root Category >> Subcategory

Instead it has you still in the subcategory like this

Thumbnail -> Subcategory (notice the missing root category)
it should go back. i tried to find where this button is located so I can replace it with a simple Javascript back history script.

Please help
I tried working with the parameters both for the component and menu. Currently I have the menu using global everything and no fields filled in so I can focus just editing the component parameters.

Hi, search this forum where this was explained exactly - in short - it is not in fact a back button (to previous page) but up button (to go to parent category)
