Image ordering in Category View - problem

Hi. I'm using Phoca Gallery 2.7.8 and Joomla 1.5.23. I'm not using any subcategories, just couple of categories with images within. I also don't use any category label above the images.

I found out that whatever parameter I change in the component / menu item in Image Ordering there's no change. Everything is writable, I can save changes. I uploaded images to the category and whatever the parameter setting is, it always displays by ID ascending, meaning the order is the same as my uploading order. I'd like to be able order images in category from the backend.

Is it a bug or something ?

Do you have problems in frontend, or in backend?

In the backend when you enter "photos" you have "ordering" column. When I change the order of the images in the category it should affect the order in the frontend, however it does not.

Hi, no, there is no such behaviour in Joomla!, if you change the ordering in backend in Joomla! it does not take an effect on frontend.

To set ordering for frontend in Phoca Gallery, you need to set it in parameters.

Oh, I see. It's a bit confusing though to have such an option in the backend (I mean having the ordering column). If it's simple to change, maybe you should consider not having this in the next release ?

This should be a question on Joomla! core, not on Phoca Gallery - on forum.joomla.org - to remove the ordering feature in Joomla!
