Issue when updating from 2.5.8 to 2.7.8

Greetings,
I just broke a site and then reverted to the version that worked. http://www.fineartsantafe.com

Phoca Gallery 2.5.8 is installed in this Joomla 1.5.23 site. When I upgraded Phoca Gallery to 2.7.8, the gallery broke. Is there any risk to leaving the installation as is? IF so, do you have any advice?

There was an error message which I should have recorded. I thought I fixed things by reverting but I didn't, so we're now restoring the entire site. I'll get back to you.

Something went terribly wrong. None of my backups of the site or the database are working properly, even if I roll back to weeks ago when the site worked fine. http://www.fineartsantafe.com

OH! I see an old note to myself NOT to update phocagallery from 2.5.8 because it broke the gallery!! In the past I was able to restore the site from a backup but for some reason that's not working yet. Bluehost is working on the site now.

Can you send me 2.5.8? I seem to have deleted that version. hope at santafe-webdesign dot com

The site is up and running.

I found where to download older versions of Phoca Gallery: http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/phocag ... ge_id=3942

These are the steps I took to restore the site:

• renamed the root folder public_html and created an empty public_html
  restored a good backup of the site into public_html using Site Backup and Restore function in bluehost
  removed Joomla installs from the simplescripts list ONLY
  installed a fresh version of Joomla with a new database
  deleted the tables from the new database
  exported all the tables from the backed up database
  imported the old tables into the new database
  copied certain code from the old configuration.php to the new one
  moved components and images from the backed up site to the new site
  installed phoca gallery 2.5.8
  installed other components
