thumbnails not generating

I can see this has been brought up again and again, but I'm having trouble resolving it.

Server: Hostgator
Joomla 1.5.22
PhocaGallery 2.7.8

I copied a folder structure with images into the phocagallery directory.
In phocagallery I can navigate the images in their correct folders.
And on the site, I can see the folder structure for the galleries and even see the names of the images.
But neither in phocagallery nor the site can I see the images themselves.
Just blank white squares.

I go to parameters and enable thumbnail creation and hit save.
Then I reload the images tab in phocagallery.
Phocagallery suddenly says it's creating thumbnails.
But it hangs on the very first image and never ends.
I manually tell it to Stop creating thumbnails which returns me to the image list.
One, single image thumbnail now appears - the first one - and that's it.
That image looks fine on the site, too.

But, enable thumbnail creation is disabled again.
And obviously, I can't manually go through this process to generate all these thumbnails.

Has anyone experienced and resolved this?

Ok, I've narrowed it down a little more.

I just switched over to Internet Explorer (vs Firefox) and tried it again, and this time it worked fine.

There's something about firefox that is turning off the thumbnail creation parameter and not allowing me to re-enable thumbnail creation.
When I switch to Explorer, it works fine.

I'd love to resolve this as I don't use IE very much and I don't have control over which browser my client will be using.
But at least now I know the issue has something to do with firefox conflicting with the Parameters.

Hmmm, maybe some security redirect settings in Firefox???? no idea there


Try to test debug mode and php error reporting on your server to be sure, there is no problem on the server.
