pictures not visible

Post by abbey »

hi,

i have the problem, that phoca gallery doesn's show my uploadet pictures.

the pictures were uploadet via FTP to the server.
in the phoca menu i used "multiple add" to import my pictures to the phoca system, no errors appeared.
in the phoca list, where all images are shown, the uploaded pictures appears, but i can only see a white box instead of the picture.
if i want do open the picture, just a emtpy, white box appears.

what is the problem?

phoca version: 2.7.6
Joomla: 1.5.22

thank you for help....

Hi,
did you enable thumbnail creation?
backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Phoca Gallery Control Panel --> Parameters --> Thumbnail Creation Settings -->
Pagination Thumbnail Creation=Yes
Enable Thumbnails Creation=Yes
Save your settings!
Kind regards,
Benno

hi,

long time ago, that i was in this forum. had several differnt things to do, but the problem with my gallery still exists ;-)

i followed the steps from benno, but the result is always the same.

first i had problems with the permissions. what settings should i give to which folders?
(i now give 777, but i want do have it more save. what is recommend?)

after some tests i found out, that there are three pictures, that works. the tumpnails appears and everything works find.
but with every other picture (same width and height) it doesn't work, that's strange, isn't it??

i have no idea what to do next.....

Hi, mostly the problems with permissions or ownership should be solved with webhosting operator.

Because of security, of course, 777 is not recommended but on some server this is the only way to work with files and folders (which is of course not good :-( )

On some servers, the enabling ftp layer in global configuration can help, as then the files and folders get the same ownership like ftp account.
