FTP shows pics but gallary does not

I have added some pictures to my site using filezilla and saved them under images/phocagallary under random folders I currently have already setup (that show photos now). I can see the pictures in the different folders in filezilla but cannot see the images when I login in and use phoca library in joomla. My images are all jpegs and are saved with the correct tittle. I am assuming there is a problem with the thumbnail creation? It is interesting though I had added photos this very same way before and when I logged into joomla and opened up the phoca component it always created the thumbnails automatically for me, now I get nothing.
I would appreciate any assistance.

Hi, did you add the images to gallery - e.g. with multiple add function, is the thumbnail creating function enabled?

I thought you could add through the FTP site using Fillezilla? Or do I have to go through the backend and add them through the gallary?

You can upload images to your server through the ftp but then you need add them to gallery system (to know which category they belong, which title they have, etc, etc.)
