unable to install com_phocagallery_v2.7.4.zip

when I try to install it ask me to download an emty index.php file and then nothing else happen. Your mod_phocagallery_image_v2.7.1.zip install fine. can I install it manually, if yes then how?

Hi, you should check your Joomla! installation,
you can use FTP to install Phoca Gallery too.

I have checked my installation and I only have the problem with this zip, have install 4 other extension without problems, very strange. anyhow, I will read the topic you refer to and install via FTP. thank for your answer.

Hi, did you compare the size of the extensions. Phoca Gallery is a large extension, so Joomla! needs some time to unpack it, this can be problem on some servers. This is why the ftp installation is recommended then.

I've had phocagallery v2.5.6 running on a site now for a while and think its great thankyou - but now I want to allow users to upload images I *think* I need to upgrade to 2.7.4 so that site admin can be notified of new images by email and authorize them etc... ( I don't think or can't find anywhere in 2.5.6 where an email is sent to admin for uploaded images)

The install of 2.7.4 is not working - same problem as above with the index.php 'save as' window appearing each time - the manual install by ftp is easy but the database instructions mean NOTHING to me - what is a bak file and how do I open it !!

I have read that perhaps I can edit the php.ini so that my server will cope with the size of the zip/component ???

How do I so this please - the manual install is simply not an option for me unless there are some detailed step by step instructions. The database instructions that are available are way beyond me !

Ok - I have now seen the ftp install.zip and downloaded that - sorry for not spotting that first time round.

I do have a question - does the admin get an email when a user uploads an image ?

Enable User Upload Image Authorization - if yes, the images are uploaded as not approved and must be approved by administrator to display them on the site
I have this set to YES - is there a resulting email ? Because I'm not getting one.
