discoloration after resize in Java upload

Post by kicker10bog »

Hello,

I'm working on a site to sell photographs from and I want to resize the images so they don't take up as much space. ... I tried the java upload resize feature. Well, it resizes the photos ok, but the really big photos get discolored....
like this --> Image
This photo is over 2mb on my computer, but after resizing it, it's only 224kb

Has anyone else had this trouble?

Hi, yes this is a known issue, the java upload has problem with pictures of some cameras. So you need to find other solution then :-( .e.g. resizing the images in some software on your PC.

On one server where there was no place for original images. I have installed Joomla! and Phoca Gallery on my localhost (on my PC) and have uploaded all original images to the gallery and created large thumbnails. These large thumbnails I have copied to the folder and renamed and copied to server as original images (they were resized automatically all-in-one with Phoca Gallery on localhost). :idea:
