to display categories in frontpage

I made a website. I want to show my galleries in frontpage as cover image for each category.

I want to show 8 categories in frontpage and each image must be cover image for each other category. It musn't be show image from same category in 8 lines like internet news websites..

Sample page is:

Please look at: "RASTGELE GALERILER" as random galleries in Turkish. Each cover image is linked to category.

How can I do my image galleries like this?

to get info how you can display images and categories with Phoca Gallery (you can display images as folder icons)

Dear Jan,

I looked your links. But I did not understand anything. Please could you explain how can I do my need in act of my page..

Cause I must integrate this image folders with module in user4 position. It did not with menu item.
