Yes a little integration is the single thing that Phoca still misses. When you get some time check out the CB plugin for G2brige (Gallery2 joomla bridge). Shouldn't be that difficult to move it, but it still does need some understanding of CB which I don't have....

:( there is a long way to do the integration with CB, now I have 14 paper sheets with cca 100 feature requests on every sheet, so I think this will take some time :-(

Dear Jan

I have been following and using Phoca Gallery since beginning. I admire your work, and how fast you are upgrading it. I see many people wanting the CB integration and I see that it will be lot of work for you.

I am ready to help you do it man. I am not a programmer myself but can pay one to do it. However I would like to save some time not doing the same things you are doing. If you have a working plan it could be great if you share it with me so I can work under your wing. I also believe this working plan can be shared on your forum so other people could also help as they do at the joomla community.

This is the testing site http://216.69.179.27 I am trying the Phoca Gallery integration. I can provide you user access to it and show you what I am doing. I have already installed some other plugins to integrate “Fireboard forum”, “Myblog” and “Acajoom Newsletter” into CBuilder user profile tabs. This accomplished integration with other components will help you see what can be done with PG.

Happy new year

hi, the situation is following... in past two or three months I didn't find time for developing the extensions ... I have 5 - 6 extensions which are in process (a half of year :-) ) but there are so many questions (via forum, via email,...) so I only answer the questions whole day :-( ... so still didn't find time for see the CB (in fact I don't know CB) so I don't have any plan for CB integration yet :-( :( :(

Dear Jan, I totally understand you; I also know your jamming problem with forum. That’s why somehow we are here, to help you.

If you do not know anything about CB, this is all you should know about integration: Community Builder Plugin Framework API by Beat B. http://www.joomlapolis.com/component/op ... Itemid,36/

If CB site ask you to subscribe use file below instead: http://216.69.179.27/CBRC2b10-bb_API.pdf (I will hold it on this server for few weeks for you or anyone else who would like to help with integration)

I have created an image (see attachment file) with how Phoca Gallery CB tab should look like. Hope this give you a real idea of what is need for integration. I will create screenshots also for picture and comments tabs, but the idea is to have it showing what you see at backend administration but restricting some features.

I also believe that super administrator should be capable to say where user galleries should be in. For example, main site can have many main gallery categories and only have 1 user gallery category where all the users could have their inner categories. This will provide super administrator the capability to address where users galleries will be.

Jan I was considering to pay a coder around 100usd to do this job, but I rather prefer to give you this money if you agree on giving some time to Phoca CB integration. Most of the job is already done by you, adding this tab will be very simple for you.

I also believe you should have a way to generate you founds to pay someone to take care of your forum so you can use that time for developing PhocaG. What about having a paid version of your gallery? Maybe with no branding, and some small other features.

Happy new year

Hi, it is not easy to build the same behaviour for the frontend as it is in the backend... it is about security, it is about Joomla! backend framework. Listing the images in the frontend as you have placed into the picture means that you need to write the same interface as it is in the backend of Joomla! (this was made by Joomla! developers a lot of years :-( ), you need for the frontend to use more secure interface, because in the frontend user can upload image and build thumbnails (if you do it in admin, you have the option to e.g. stop the thumbnails creation if some problem there is - bad image, problem with GD) but this option will be missed in frontend, because user cannot stop thumbnails creatin for the whole site, for other user too ... and there are many security questions... :-(
to pay someone to take care of your forum
:-) :-) :-) I donate the Phoca Site now and don't have any money for paying someone other ... :-( ... I think paying for the Phoca Gallery will not bring money for paying someone ... :-(

The problem of CB integration is, I am by myself not able to spend time for studiing whole CB to produce some plugin ... so this take a lot of time if I find the time for doing it... before this a lot of things need to be solved for Phoca Gallery
- frontend - multiple upload
- frontend - user can create more categories (+security)
- frontedn + admin - java upload (which I am testing now), new flash upload
- Geo tagging for images
- Cameras information of the images
- commenting the image
- rating the image
- commenting and rating witout beeing registered
- ...., .... , ....

5 Months ago there were two users which have had problems with 700 categories. Then I have fixed the listing of categories (in backend, it is a recursive function because of unlimited level of categories and subcategories) and then I got the information that over 1000 categories (no idea about count of images) works ... so maybe there should not be problem ???

Surely if there are a lot of images, it is good to enable functions which "save" the RAM and CPU:
(pagination thumbnail creating, not checking thumbnails without original images, etc.)

hi Jan,

have a look at this plugin http://en.loosenyourmind.com/user-profi ... Telar.html

scroll down to have a look at the tabs, this was one plugin for another gallerie which published 3 tabs in CB

a gallery tab (once the user is logged in it hast also the following
Total number of images: 2
Overall rating: 0 (0 votes)
Upload images from your Gallery User Panel! <---- This is a link to the controllpanel

a tagged images tab ( havn´t got a clue what its for) and a

Favourite Image Tab
The user has favoured no images in the Gallery.
Manage your Favourites! <--- This is a link to the favourites

I hope you will find the the time to do something like this for the Phoca gallerie, would be absolutly great :D

Maybe you can check out that plugin for that gallerie and rewrite it for phoca, (unfortunatly I don´t have a clue about something like this otherwise I would help :D )
