My website contains pages in 3 languages. Phocagallery 4.0.3 is installed on Joomla 3.2 and works fine. The only remaining point is the translation of categories title & description. Is it something possible with this version?
As many, I don't want to create 3 categories for the same pictures but unfortunately I cannot see how/where to integrate these translations.
Thank you in adavance for your help.
Ben

Re: Translation of category (title & description)?
Hi, such way the Joomla! multilanguage feature is working, you will create 3x description in different languages.
You can use some other method/extensions for this feature (I didn't test any so no clue advice there) but you allways needs to write the description in 3 languages, there is no other way if you want to have it in 3 languages, it needs to be set in 3 languages - 3 x description, 3x categories, etc.
Try to search JED (extensions.joomla.org), maybe you will find some translation extension which will fit your needs more than the standard one in Joomla!

Re: Translation of category (title & description)?
Hi Jan,
Thank you for your reply.
Actually I have no problem to create 3x the "same" category to give 3 different names. But I realy don't want to upload 3 times all my pictures. So do you think there is a way to define some kind of "links" between the different translated categories?
Best Regards,
Ben

Hi, in Phoca Gallery, you can use one picture (original image) for more "images"
Image A (lang DE) can use the same original image like Image B (lang EN).

Re: Translation of category (title & description)?
Hi Jan,
Thank for your reply. The solution you mentionned is realy interesting and I'm wondering how to implement it. Unfortunately, in the Phoca admin panel (images), I cannot see how/where to make the definition you mentionned. For y given image I can only specified a language (or all).
Do I need to install/use a specific version of Phoca (I'm using Phoca 4.0.3)? Hope you can give me more info/procedure.
Thank you in advance.

Ben

Hi, no, in edit of image name, you just select the same image file name like by other items.
