Phoca Gallery upload error

I’m having trouble loading photos on several Phoco Galleries. Things were working fine but now suddenly I’m unable to upload photos through the Phoca Admin. I finally got aggravated and loaded the photos manually into my cpanel and retrieved the photos from there, and it worked fine. I really don’t know what I’m doing wrong? Perhaps when I upgraded things changed? Is anyone else getting a 503 error when trying to upload photos?

??? maybe some permissions or ownership on your server was changed ??? Does it work e.g. media manager or ftp ?

I use the 1.8.8 version on a Joomla 1.5.6 and i've the same error message : Upload failed (Read/Write Error)

What is the solution ?

Hi, you should see your server's

permissions (e.g. in tmp folder - if it is writeable)
ownership

see if you have enabled the ftp layer...

I'm going to have someone look at for me today. The only way I can get photos loaded (on three of our sites) is by using the C-panel.

We checked all the permissions on three sites and everything was fine. We are able to load pictures by the cpanel (FTP) but are not able to load in the Phoca Gallery Admin panel. Which is bad for the customers...

I've been using the gallery for quite sometime. I think the change came when I upgraded to 1.8.7. It was fine before that. We tried 2.0 beta on a brand new site and we are getting the same errors.

can you upload the images via media manager, do you have enabled the ftp layer... because there were no changes in uploading from beginning this function
