icon new in joomla 3.2.3 & Phoca4.1.1

I have Joomla 3.2.3 and PG 4.1.1 stable I have a problem with the icon representing the 'new' in the path of return only for entrance in the category and not on the category.
I can not change

if I change the value "Different Thubmnail Height" on "YES (Masonry Effect)" the NEW icon would then have the pictures in a category but photo thumbnails disappear.
