I have now for days tried to install Phoca Gallery do our website. but everytime I get and error called 404 further along the page it says compnent not found.
I have also tried Phoca Download with the exact same error and message.
I have Phoca installed before, but had to start the website all over and made a clean installation of joomla (3) and now this error.
What is wrong, why can't I install this component?
Looking forward to any kind of help - thankyou in advance!!!

Re: 404 Error during instllation
Hi, I think, this should be a question on Joomla!.org forum. Not Phoca Gallery not Phoca Download install themselves. Both are installed by Joomla! installation manager (com_installer). If there are some problems, Joomla! installation should be checked - if it was correctly installed. Then the limits on server should be checked too. The problem is, all this is done in com_installer so if there is some error, it needs to be found there
Until Phoca Gallery is not installed, there cannot be any error as in fact does not exist

I just kinda figured that since it was only the phoca extensions I had problems with it was a phoca problem?

Re: 404 Error during instllation
Hi, Phoca extensions are large extensions (because of many features they have), it is possible that the problem somehow is caused by the size of the extension, really no idea, this should be discovered from the errorLog on the server. But even, unfortunately, I cannot give any advice there as this is not a part of Phoca - Installation procedure works in com_installer component so this has nothing to do with the component itself - the com_install get the standard XML installation file (which is standard and tested by thousands of users, so there is no a problem). What I can imagine:
- there is a limit on server which prevents from installing large components
- something went wrong while installation and wrong items stayed in database which prevents from installing component successfully
Try to see:
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/16-joomla ... -in-joomla - to install large components in Joomla!
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/16-joomla ... m-manually - to remove component completely from Joomla! - to be sure nothing in Joomla! database is in conflict while reinstalling Joomla! component
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/16-joomla ... extensions - to solve possible problems while updating components.
