thumbnail orientation

hi there. i have read other topics concerning this and done as they suggested, but it's not working for me.

ok. using phocagallery 4.1.0 in joomla 3.2.1.

on my site, i have photos of both landscape and portrait orientation. when i try to add new images, those in portrait orientation automatically turn landscape in thumbnails. this is what i have done already to try to fix the problem:

-- in control panel/options/thumbnails, i have the following settings:
pagination thumbnail generation: yes
clean thumbnails: no
enable thumbnail generation: yes
crop thumbnails: none
additional thumbnails: only medium thumbnails
jpeg quality: 90
large image width: 800
large image height: 800
med image width: 100
med image height: 100
sm image width: 50
sm image height: 50
detail window width: 680
detail window height: 560

i have also deleted all thumbnails and files of the portrait image (via ftp) before trying to see if everything worked.

i would really appreciate some suggestions.

Hi, Phoca Gallery does not change the format automatically - but if the crop function is enabled - it can be cropped - so all images have the same size.
