Category image

Hello, how I can set for all category thumb image? Now I have main category without thumb image. Sub category its ok, because inside of subcategory its image, and have thumb of every sub category, but in main category its not image. Please help me with this I try everything. Or is it possible to insert Category image by hand? Now I have just image of folder - icon.

Hi,
you don't need to change any settings.
Just follow the article, that Jan recommended to you:

If you want to display an image as category icon and you don't want to display such image in list of category, then you set the first image as unauthorized. Such image will be displayed as category icon but will be not displayed in list of images.

Means, just copy an image in the category and unauthorize it. That's it.

Hello Benno, thank you so much for help. Now I understand. Uf, this is not so much user friendly special if you have 200 Category and subcategory. Also all time after its write Count of not authorized image(s) in the gallery: 1 Count of not authorized image(s) in the gallery: 2 Count of not authorized image(s) in the gallery: 3 .... Also can not understand that I use also PhocaGallery on one site / 3.2.0 / and its working without copy image on category and unauthorize. Normal really its working and I dont have idea why is not working me on this version / last / for Joomla 3. I am without idea.

Hi, the feature 'displying it with help of unauthorized image is just a bonus solution how to display the image as category image and not display it in images list (which is not common - if some image represents category why not include it in images).

The message about unauthorized images is only info message - to know about the count of unauthorized images.

1) Unfortunately this doesn't work on version 4.0.4 because PhocaGalleryImageFront::getRandomImageRecursive has condition:
' AND a.published = 1'.
' AND a.approved = 1'.

2) If you add image "Published=Yes" and "Authorized=No", then this "special" image is counted to total quantity of category. If you have only one such image in category, you will see "Category name"(1) under image folder.
Maybe better condition is:
' AND a.approved = 1'.

1) you should not use random ordering for the image, did you try to set other ordering - e.g. by order or by id? (can be set in options - ordering of the image displayed instead folder icon)
