Phoca Gallery Thumbnail Creation

Hi!

On my site I have tried to make thumbnail creation faster but it isn't work. I use Phoca Gallery 4.0 in Joomla 3.1.1.
I went to Phoca Gallery Options and than to Thumbnails and than to Pagination Thumbnail Generation an I set it to YES but the only thing is what happened that no thumbnail created at all and I could not look the photos.
So what should I set up and how to make thumbnai creatin faster (because the documentation is old for Phoca 4.0 and I am a very new on this field)

Hi, Pagination thumbnail creation makes thumbnails for one page in administration - so it saves the memory for looking at all images - just see the documentation. The thumbnail creation is still the same since version 1, nothing changed there.

To make thumbnails faster, this is more a question on webhosting provider because thumbnails are not created by Phoca Gallery but by GD library which is a part of your PHP - of your server (so increase memory, increase cpu on the server, upload smaller images (so the GD and server does not need to manage large images and lost time and memory for it)

Thanks for your answers, but when you said increase memory did you mean memory_limit in php? Because it is on 1000M is that not enough? I only deal with pictures at about 100-120 KB so they are not so big. GD Support is enabled. So I guess I did everything or did I?

Hi, this is all the questions about the server - the memory can be increased:

- as hardware - add more memory to server
- as software - add more memory for php on the server

Normally, server is able to create thumbnails from images which are large to 2MB
