Conversion from DOCMAN

Post by jciconsult »

Does anyone have a good approach to convert from DOCMAN 1.x to phoca download. We have a lot of pdfs to move.

Hi, unfortunatelly I don't know docman and don't know any import tool for this. But try to use Multiple Add feature in Phoca Download - you just set the folders, subfolders and files and copy to FTP, then click on Multiple Add and then all folders will be translated to categories, all subfolders to subcategories and files will be assigned to categories (of course you then need to set up all the information for the files, but they will be set in the system)

I reorganized the files into a new folder by category using the cpanel file manager and did a multiple add. Then I downloaded the file name and id as a csv file file in phpmyadmin. Did the same think for docman, built a link table to copy over the update date, title and description. Seems to work reasonably well.

Hi, yes, I think this will be the quickest way - to build it from scratch but make it quicker with multiple add.
