Hello,
Joomla v 2.5.11, Phoca Gallery 3.2.3, shared host server.
When deleting pictures from front end, they are deleted in the component and on the server.
But if I delete pictures from the back end, they are deleted from the component but not on the server.
I did some test on localhost with Joomla 2.5.4 and Phoca Gallery 3.2.3 and the picture deletion is working in the image folder, by the back end.
Upgrading Joomla to 2.5.11, it doesn’t work.
I ask joomla dev team about this problem, and the said that you have to upgrade your component on your side, to work with 2.5.11.
Is that it is fixed in the latest version (3.2.4) ?
Kind Regards,
Jo

Re: Delete pictures from the back end on the server
Hi, it is feature:
- in frontend, the images are loaded only in Phoca Gallery, so they can be deleted by Phoca Gallery features
- in backend, the images can be loaded by other parts (ftp, media manager, etc.) and used by other parts of system. Original images can be used for different features (recreate thumbnails, download, etc., thumbnails for more images, ) ... see similar posts in this forum, where it is explained.

Re: Delete pictures from the back end on the server
Hi,
I tested all types of downloading, with and without FTP enabled on my site, directly with an FTP client, with the media manager ...
On a site hosted and on a local site but no solution works. I made tests with images that are used only once in the component.
First, is that possible?
What is not normal is that with local version of Joomla 2.5.4 this works!?
Sorry for my english, I'm French
Best Regards,
Jo
