Want subcategories to have same look as categories

Post by gjhvs »

Hi,

Have a look here: www .madonna.nl/madonna/foto-album/
That's the startpage with 2 categories. Image left, description right.

If you click on the category 'Overig' you get the subcategory view. But I want this page to have the same lay-out as (head) category.
So no grid, but also a picture on the left with a brief description on the right.

I want this on al pages where there are category folders.

Is this possible?

Hi, the first one is Cetegories View and the second one is Category View, unfortunatelly there is no the same design, so this needs to be customized for the category view :-(

Hi Jan,

I don't get it :( sorry. (it's still early over here, I'll also take a coffee)

I'll try a second time :)

Page 1 : http://www.madonna.nl/madonna/foto-album/

After following the Categorylink 'Overig' you get this:

Page 2: http://www.madonna.nl/madonna/foto-album/overig/

I would like Page 2 to have the same design as Page 1.

Hi, as wrote about, these are different views. One is the view of categories, second is the view of category. There are not the same design, so this needs to be customized directly by your needs. I didn't do such modification yet, so cannot give any clue advice there. :-(

You can do it other way too. Just create one parent category and create a link to Category View (to this parent cateogry) - there your category view will include all subcategories and in fact it will be displayed like categories view but in category view design - then if you go to the subcategory, you will still be in category view.
