Imagesource folder linked instead of copy into gallery

Hi all,
I am still using Phoca gallery and its a great add on though with most of my applications. Now for an intranet purpose I have the following problem.
I have a large folder with 1000s of images organized in folders and subfolders. I want to achieve that Phoca gallery reads these images, but do NOT import and thus copy all these images into the (joomla) gallery folder. I want to keep the images within the source folder at its original place and just cerate a separate thumbnail folder where the thumbnails are stored. When somebody clicks on an image the gallery shall load the original image read from the original folder.
The image source folder can only be read, I cannot write to this source image folder as this is on a different server connected with NFS.

Hi, if you will use multiple add, then phoca gallery will create:

- thumbnails from images
- categories from folders
- subcategories from subfolders

but it does not change the folder structure - only add thumbs folder where it places the necessary thumbnails. If you need other feature there, I think, then it needs to be customized for such purposes
