Saving photos outside public_html

In the Phoca Download Component it is possible to save files outside the public-html folder to increase security. By doing this, it is not possible to create a direct link to the files. The manual of Phoca Download Component describes how to do this.

I have the same question, but now about the Phoca Gallery Component. I want the photos on my website only be seen by registered users.
Only registered users are allowed to download the photos.
I use Phoca Gallery to show the photos to the registered users, accesible after login.
But I noticed that normal installation of Phoca Gallery still makes this photo's accessible to non-registered users by direct link.

Which steps do I need to take to increase the security and to make the photos really only visible for registered users?

Hi, see similar posts in the forum:

e.g. protect the folder by htaccess
e.g. add watermarks to the images
e.g. remove th original files from server and leave only thumbnails there

1 set are public

1 set are private with a login

The question

I would like to be able to allow down-loading of images only in the private gallery, at the moment when I go into options - display download icon, it works on all galleries and images.

I am on version 3.2.0

Is this possible?
