it is my pleasure to be phoca user; it is so great component.
my suggestion and it may be already exist module
1- category view for
last category
random category
featured category
as e-commerce site produce these three modules

2- slide slide show
it is a JQuery bar view images thumbnails from selected categories in the home page

Hi,

1) you can display the images in module and ther you can select if they will be last, random, etc.

2) Added to feature request list.
