Hi,
I have changed my site so that now customers don't have to log in like before. I have also changed the Phoca Guestbook parameters under "general settings" to read:
Disable user check = Yes
Registered users only = No
Review message = Yes
But still the text on the guestbook page reads: "Only registered users may add messages, please log in now".
Where else should I change the settings to get the message form to display straight away?
Gloria

Re: Guestbook login
Hi,
did you set:
backend --> Components --> Phoca Guestbook --> Guestbooks --> "your guestbook" --> Guestbook: [ Edit ] -->
Access=Public
Kind regards,
Bennoo

Re: Guestbook login
Hello again,
To continue on above,
I noticed that the exact same parameters set in the local machine (using XAMPP there) gave the desired result and displayed the message form straight away. The question is then: why doesn't it work on the live site?
Any suggestions and advise?
If I have to re-install, do I have to remove the old Phoca Guestbook first, or can I re-install on top?
Regards / Gloria

Re: Guestbook login
Hi, I think you need to ask your webhosting provider if there are no limits, etc. on your server?

Re: Guestbook login
Hi,
Thanks for your answers. The issue is now resolved, (I don't know how to mark it "solved" though, perhaps you can do that?).
I don't know what exactly happened, but as I mentioned before I had the installation working correct on the local machine, so I un-installed the guestbook on the live site, copied the guestbook from the local machine and in to the live site, and then everything worked as desired.
I would like to say that I really like this guestbook, and say thank you for making it available to us out here. Also, I don't get that many spam entries so the security is OK. The spams I get are entered by physical persons not robots, and that is something one can't guard against.
Thanks again, Jan. / Gloria
