invalid links generated in category view

Post by DjMikeWatt »

Here is the low-down.

I have a page which shows the phoca categories/albums. Some albums, when clicked, take you to a blank page.

Category page: http://melsbgc.org/index.php?option=com ... &Itemid=25

Ok, so if you click the last album, called Prom2012, it takes you to a blank page, here: http://melsbgc.org/index.php?option=com ... &Itemid=25

But if I then manually remove the last bit of the URL ("&itemid=25"), the URL then works perfectly. Try: http://melsbgc.org/index.php?option=com ... 1:prom2012

So, what's going on here? I'm not creating that link to the album, the component is. I can't control that. But the fact is, it isn't working until I manually edit the URL. Does anyone have any ideas?

THANKS,
Michael

Hi,

1) blank page - see: https://www.phoca.cz/documents/16-joomla ... ent-errors - links are created by Joomla! framework so the itemid is added by the system to control SEF, etc.

2) anyway - if you are using black background - try to see this: https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... ound-image

I read both links but I don't see where my issue is mentioned in them. I'm getting no error (PHP or Jscript) and I'm able to "fix" it by removing the "itemid=xx" from the URL. So, how can I make this work properly? Is there any support here?

Hi, if there is a blank page displayed mostly this means php error, to fix this problem, first of all you need to know the error which caused it (to enable php error reporting or see the error log on the server - see the error which is behind the blank page) - Try to recheck and resave the menu link to gallery too.
