Make description field mandatory

Hi, I use phoca gallery to make a contest, so user able to upload the photo in front end. All doing well, thanks for the great extension. My question are,how can I make the description field as mandatory, so each user need to fill the field before they can upload photo. and how can I add "Uploaded by [user]" under the image in category view?

Any help much appreciated. thank you.

Hi, this needs to be customized in the code:
components/com_phocagallery/views/user/tmpl/ ... (if user control panel is used)
or
components/com_phocagallery/views/category/tmpl/...
