Delay in opening large images (popup window)

Hello I have a problem with Phoca gallery, when I open the images to enlarge them takes a lot to open them, I tried to check everything but I can not find solution. I noticed that if I use another template everything works properly.

I use Phoca Gallery version 3.2.0, the version used is the joomla 2.5.

thanks rosspe for your answer but the images have a size not exceeding 450kb, I do not think this is the problem ... If I change the template everything returns to work properly, I think I have a prolema with the code of the template

could be an incompatibility with MooTools and Jquery used in the template, so if anyone knows a solution should be about the problem

Try to disable Mootools Upgrade plugin.
