I'm not able to assign different categories to different menu items with Phocagallery. I have 2 menus 1. fruits 2. Juices. I want to assign fruits menu to fruits category with all its images and juices to juice category with its images in phocagallery. However there is no such setting shown in phocagallery. I searched on phocagallery support forum and it was mentioned that this function was available with joomla 1.6 but with joomla 1.7 this has been removed. This sounds like a serious set back to phocagallery caused by joomla which otherwise is a great component.
It was mentioned by Jan in the forum that it is not the phocagallery component issue but issue with joomla 1.7. Has anyone else faced this issue?. Is there a solution for this?. I'm in a desperate need to resolve this problem else I have to go with some other photogallery than phocagallery for joomla 1.7, which I don't want to. I dont want to loose such a great product because of some limitation of joomla. Anybody here to please help me?. The last forum in which I read about this issue was more than a year back and I did not see any resolution or update on that later. IF someone can help me with this I will really appreciate

Re: Serious limitation assigning categories to different men
Hi, not sure if you understand it correctly.
You can still (1.6, 1.7, 2.5) create different menu links to different categories but what is limited since 1.6 is, overriding the parameters of menu links over global configuration. But this does not mean, you cannot create different menu links to different Phoca Gallery categories.

Re: Serious limitation assigning categories to different men
Jan,
I don't know if I'm missing something. But when I create a menu and assign the "List Of Categories (Categories View)" from the phoca gallery component , I do not see any option to choose any category from the many categories that I have created in the phoca gallery component. When I choose the "List Of Categories (Categories View)" option, by default it lists all the categories, that's why I'm confused when you say we can assign different categories to different menu. If you like I can send you the screen shot of the setting

Re: Serious limitation assigning categories to different men
Guess I have to choose "List of Images (Category View)" rather than "List Of Categories (Categories View)" . Seems like if I do this it is well. I was assuming that "List Of Categories (Categories View)" will provide option to choose category , which it doesn't. Anyway, other way works so it is fine.
