Hallo, the installation in Joomla 1.7.3 seemed to work, but I can't open Guestbooks and Posts (error 500).
It seems to be a database problem: The tables were not created while installing (I verified that in phpMyAdmin).
The instruction says:
"The SQL queries, which install Phoca Guestbook tables into your database, are saved in install.sql (install.bak) file. You find this file in Phoca Guestbook component ZIP package. Just copy the SQL queries and run them in e.g. phpMyAdmin."
Unfortunately, I am not able to comprehend this. Can please anybody give me the step to step instruction for installing the two tables manually.
Thank you very much for your help.
Kurt

Re: Guestbook: Installation problem
Hello
I've not a real answare on your question to make manual a table for phoca guestbook, but maybe you don't need it:
You can try the next thing.
I had a similar problem. I installed the component in Firefox and it didn't work.
After that i've search on the internet and there i found someone who said that i've to try it with Google Chrome.
After i did that, everything was okay,
So maybe you can try to use any other browser?
Sorry for my bad English,
i'll hoop it works

Re: Guestbook: Installation problem
Thank you very much mjurries for your suggestion.
However, the tables still will not be installed neither with Safari nor Google Chrome.
Whatever my problem is, the only way will probably be to install them manually.
But I still don't know what exactly I have to copy (code or file) and how to import it in phpMyAdmin.

Re: Guestbook: [SOLVED]Installation problem
For everybody who is a greenhorn like me in understanding databases:
- copy the code of install.bak file (open the file in eg text edit)
- insert the code in phpMyAdmin: SQL menu
- run (ok)
- rename the files if necessary, see manual (menu more -> operations)
