If you have images, say, 1024 x 768px, and you set the max at 640 x 480px the original image once uploaded stays the same but the displayed image get resized on the fly to 640 x 480px. Does this hinder performance at all or is it best to upload an image in the size you want it to be displayed?
Also, what's the maximum ID number? Does it go above 9999? What I'm really trying to find out is if there's a limit to the images in Phoca Gallery. I found this thread viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1046 but it's quite old which kind of answers my question. Does it still apply?
Thanks.

Re: Performance question and max ID
Hi, there is no limit, pagination is used, so there should not be problems with growing count of images.
Thumbnails are created only once, and then - thumbnails are used (not original images) so this should not have any effect on performance, etc.
