Multiple Categories View Menu Item issue

Post by Jerry74 »

On the site from my choir we have a public part en a registered part.

I created two menu items pointing to a category view. One being 'public' and one for the 'registered'.

When I click the registered menu item I see my breadcrumd saying: 'mysite/members/foto'.
When I click a (sub)category within that page it brings me to 'mysite/public/foto/category'.

(above is a structural example. here you'll find the public category-view page: photos)

The same happens when I create a slideshow within an article on the registered part with use of the Phoca Image Button and use the option to let the slideshow point to the category where the photos come from.

Can Phoca Gallery be configured to have more then one menu item pointing to a 'category view' in such a way that when clicking the categories you stay on that particular section of the site? I hope so :-).

I make use of Joomla 1.7.3 and the latest version of Phoca Gallery.

Thanks in advance,

Jerry

Hi, you can have more than one menu item for Phoca Gallery, the problem is while going through the tree, only one menu item (itemid) is used and the aliases are rendered then by this itemid - https://www.phoca.cz/documents/16-joomla ... -in-joomla

:-(

Thank you for the replay Jan. Something like you explain already went through my mind. Therefore I tried to figure out where the preference for a specific menu item comes from. If I unpublish the Menu Item which the tree seems to 'prefer', then the other Menu Item automatically becomes the default.

Right now I solved it by making the 'public' Menu the default for showing photos and refer to that part of the site from the registered menu and putting some information to it. So every member knows which photo's are public and which ones are only viewable after being logged in.
