category view displaying description in box

Hi,

I have a problem with phocagallery, I searched on the web several hours but now I give up ! please help !!

Here is my problem : I'm tring to display a description under the thumbnails in an article and it doesn't work.

I did every step found in phoca.cz so :
- install joomla v2.5.3 (try 2.5.1 and 2.5.2 too)
- I tried several classic templates too
- install phocagallery component v 3.1.5, plugins Phoca Gallery Content Plugin 3.1.2, Phoca Gallery Button Plugin 3.0.0
- I didn't modify any parameter in phocagallery excepted for the parameter "Display Image Description In Box" put on "Yes (HTML)"
- I create a category and an image with a description. Some words to test.
- I create an article and insert a basic phocagallery tag : {phocagallery view=category|categoryid=1|imageid=1}

Result:
- The picture is correctly displayed on my site, if I click on it I can see the description on the detail view (with the "Display Description In Detail View" put on Show) but I CANT SEE THE DESCRIPTION UNDER THE THUMBNAIL



What did I forget ? what is my mistake ?? Please help I'm lost

Hi, if you mean the description in detail window, you need to enable it in component parameters too.

Thanks for the reply but I mean the description under the thumbnail when I display thumbnails of a category. Under every thumbnails it can be shown it's name, it's description ...
I think it's a basic functionnality and it should be easy to display, but in my case it doesn't
I have no problem to see the description in the detail window (after I click on the thumbnail)

Do you have any other idea ?

but I still don't understand how to display the description of the templatedemo :"This is a description of image which was taken in autumn."
You say the description cannot be displayed with the plugin, so I tried with the module "mod_phocagallery_image_v3.1.6.zip" but the description is still not displayed.

So can you tell me how I can get the same display of the thumbnail in the templatedemo with the description "This is a description of image which was taken in autumn."

Hi,
as Jan wrote, it's not possible to display a description under the thumbnails in an article with help of the Phoca Gallery Plugin.
It's only possible with the Component in category view. (This means you must create a menu link "List of Images (Category View)")
Of course you can use the Phoca Gallery Image Module "to call the category view of Phoca Gallery Component"
To enable description in category view go to:
backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Phoca Gallery Control Panel --> Options --> Display --> Category View Settings -->
Display Image Description In Box=Yes(HTML)
Font Size Of Image Description=(As you like)
Box Height Of Image Description=(Try out a value that fit your needs)
Number Of Characters In Image Description=(Try out a value that fit your needs)
